Tom Hertel is a retired 35 year Engineer from Aerospace. Prior to pursuing an engineering degree Tom obtained a certificate of completion from Eastern New Mexico University in Roswell for Watchmaking (Watch Repair). Based on that education, Tom pursued and obtained a Master Watchmaking Certificate from American Watchmaking institute in 1975.
Using his education, Tom worked for three repair shops and started a trade shop in Tucson, Arizona. The industry changed with the introduction of electronic watches so, Tom decided to pursue an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Arizona. Tom worked for Hughes Aircraft in Tucson prior to moving to Georgia to work on the HELLFIRE Missile for Rockwell International.
After 10 years Tom transferred to the California division, Rocketdyne to work on the International Space Station. What expected to be a 2 year position turned into a 23 year career.
Upon Retiring from Aerospace Tom and his wife moved to Georgia to be close to the grand-kids. February 2021, Tom decided to open a clock repair shop in his house. Due to HOA restrictions prohibiting customer from coming to the house, Tom offers a pickup and delivery service to the residents of Hall County, Georgia.
